In the spring of 2023, journalist Allison Flowers approached me to build out a logo and brand guidelines for her new production company, Spiralbound. Flowers’ work shines a light on injustices within the criminal legal system while centering those most impacted. The name Spiralbound is not only a nod to the notebook, but also to the nature of her reporting: engaging the complexity of unfurling, rarely linear stories.
